GET TO KNOW OUR PASTOR

Pastor’s Salvation Testimony

Pastor Travis grew up in a single parent home with his mother here in Kailua. For the most part, he had a pretty normal childhood. Going to school, playing video games, and going to the beach were all things he enjoyed as a child, but one thing that was very important to him was knowing for sure that he was going to go to Heaven when he died. He was raised in a religious family, so church and God were very important topics in his childhood. Because of this, Pastor Travis went to many services and participated in religious activities. From all this he understood that as long as he was a good person and he did good things, that when his life was over God would let him into Heaven because of his good deeds.

But this strategy of how to go to Heaven changed when Pastor Travis began attending Ko’olau Baptist Academy and started reading God’s Word for himself.  It was through reading and memorizing God’s Word plus the preaching of God’s Word that Pastor Travis realized that his good works and deeds could not get him into heaven.  After reading God’s Word, Pastor Travis realized that if he did not put his faith and trust in Jesus Christ alone to forgive his sins and give him eternal life, then he would be destined to spend eternity separated from God in a real place called Hell. During the invitation time of multiple services, Pastor Travis raised his hand acknowledging that he wasn’t sure that he was saved. Thankfully after a service, his Youth Pastor came and asked him if he would like to know for sure that he was saved.  This gave Pastor Travis the opportunity to see that he was a sinner in need of a Savior. The next day in school, November of 2003, Pastor Travis accepted Christ as his Savior.
