Welcome to Maluhia
Our Church.
Who we are
Following Jesus,
together.
Maluhia Baptist Church is a family of believers in Kailua seeking to love God, live by His Word, and share the good news of Jesus Christ. We do not gather because we have life figured out. We gather because we need the truth of Scripture, the grace of Christ, and the encouragement of one another.
Our purpose
One mission.
Three commitments.
Jesus gave His church a clear mission: proclaim the gospel, baptize believers, and teach them to follow His Word. At Maluhia, that Great Commission shapes our worship, our relationships, and our witness.
With all our heart
Loving God
We seek to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. That love is expressed through worship, prayer, obedience, and faithful attention to His Word—not only during a church service, but in every part of everyday life.

Growing Together
Christian growth is meant to happen within the fellowship of a local church. As Scripture is taught and believers encourage one another, we learn to become more like Christ, carry one another’s burdens, and use our lives to serve Him.

Reaching People
Because Jesus Christ died and rose again for sinners, every person needs to hear the gospel. We want to share Christ faithfully in Kailua and beyond so that others may trust Him as Savior and grow as His disciples.

Gather around
God’s Word.
Each service is a distinct opportunity to worship the Lord, hear clear Bible preaching, encourage one another, and keep growing in faith.
Join the church family for congregational singing, fellowship, and straightforward preaching from the Bible.
Return for another service of worship, Bible preaching, and encouragement with the church family.
Pause in the middle of the week for focused Bible teaching and practical encouragement from God’s Word.

Our pastor
Meet our pastor,
Travis Medeiros.
Pastor Travis Medeiros grew up in Kailua and trusted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at age thirteen. His roots in the Windward community have given him a deep love for its people and a desire for them to know Christ.
After graduating from West Coast Baptist College, he served for five years at Koʻolau Baptist Church and Academy. He now pastors Maluhia with a desire to preach God’s Word faithfully, share the gospel throughout Kailua, and help individuals and families grow as committed followers of Christ.
What we believe
Convictions grounded
in God’s Word.
What we believe is not separate from church life—it determines what we preach, how we worship, and how we live. As an independent, fundamental Baptist church, Maluhia receives Scripture as the final authority for faith and practice. These summaries introduce our convictions; our dedicated beliefs page explains them more fully.
Read our full statement of faith →The Bible
We believe the 66 books of the Bible are verbally and plenarily inspired, inerrant, infallible, and preserved by God. Scripture is our final authority for faith and practice, and we use the King James Version exclusively in preaching and teaching.
God
We believe in one living and true God, eternally existing in three Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—equal in deity and worthy of all worship.
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived without sin, shed His blood in our place, rose bodily from the grave, ascended to Heaven, and will return.
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is a divine Person who convicts the world of sin and regenerates, indwells, sanctifies, seals, and fills every believer.
Sin & Salvation
We believe every person is a sinner and cannot save themselves. Salvation is God’s free gift, received through repentance toward God and faith in Jesus Christ alone—never through baptism, church membership, or human works.
The Local Church
We believe each local church is an independent, autonomous congregation of saved believers baptized by immersion. The church observes believer’s baptism and the Lord’s Supper and gathers for worship, discipleship, fellowship, service, and the Great Commission.
The Last Days
We believe in the pre-tribulation Rapture of the church and the premillennial return of Jesus Christ. He will reign for one thousand years, followed by final judgment and the new Heaven and new Earth.
